Here's to hoping that my work says more about me than I could possibly write here.

I can give you the facts: grew up in New Hampshire, earned a degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, moved to the West Coast to pursue a career in music, ended up with a career in digital media design.

Each semester at RISD ended with with a critique of everything that was produced in the previous 12 weeks. It was terrifying, but always a little bit surprising to see just how much came out of what seemed to be endless groping in the dark. With all of the work pinned up on the wall, connection would begin to emerge, maybe even the suggestion of a style, some hope for finding a direction for the next semester. Embarrassingly enough, some of the works presented here are old enough to have been through some of those critiques, but seeing all of the work together, I am once again seeing connections and a style that I can claim as my own, and I am inspired to see just what will come next.

Three events that influence my work...

I mention these simply because these experiences helped form how I see the world and will probably explain much of the subject matter seen, or heard, in my work: an undergraduate RISD winter-session traveling and painting in Mexico, a semester at sea on a brigantine schooner sailing the Atlantic, and 6 weeks traveling through southern Africa.

Fortunately, my wife finds the same inspiration in travel as I do. Although we currently make our home in Starkville, Mississippi, we take every chance we get to hope on a plane and expereince somewhere new.
